The service is provided at no cost and is intended for personal, non-commercial use only.

2. No Guarantee of Accuracy

Itineraries, activity suggestions, café names, restaurant recommendations, trail descriptions, accommodation suggestions, driving times, and any other content generated by this service are produced by an AI model and may be inaccurate, outdated, or unavailable.

• Businesses may have closed, moved, or changed their hours since the AI was trained.
• Trail conditions, access, and safety information may have changed.
• Prices, availability, and seasonal access are subject to change without notice.
• Weather forecasts shown are sourced from third-party APIs and may not be accurate.

Always independently verify all recommendations before making bookings, travelling, or relying on information from this service.

3. No Liability — Accommodation, Bookings & Refunds

Wander Melbournians does not operate, manage, own, or endorse any accommodation, hotel, motel, holiday house, campground, restaurant, café, tour operator, or any other business mentioned in generated itineraries.

Accommodation links (including links to Booking.com, Hotels.com, Airbnb, or any third-party booking platform) are provided for convenience only. We are not a party to any booking, reservation, or transaction made through these or any other platforms.

We accept no responsibility or liability for:

• Cancellations, refusals, or changes made by accommodation or service providers.
• Refund disputes, non-refundable bookings, or failed transactions.
• Overbooking, incorrect pricing, or misleading listings on third-party platforms.
• Loss of money, personal property, or any other loss arising from bookings made based on our suggestions.
• Dissatisfaction with any accommodation, restaurant, activity, or experience recommended.

All booking terms, cancellation policies, and refund rights are governed exclusively by the terms of the third-party provider you book with. Please read those terms carefully before confirming any reservation.

4. No Liability — Travel & Safety

Travel involves inherent risks. Wander Melbournians accepts no liability for:

• Personal injury, illness, or death during any trip.
• Loss or damage to personal property while travelling.
• Accidents, road incidents, or vehicle breakdowns.
• Weather-related disruptions, natural disasters, or road closures.
• Entry restrictions, park closures, permit requirements, or access changes.
• Wildlife encounters or hazardous natural conditions.

We strongly recommend purchasing appropriate travel insurance before any trip. Check current conditions with Parks Victoria, VicRoads, and relevant local authorities before departure.

5. Affiliate Links & Commercial Relationships

Some accommodation links on this site may be affiliate links. This means we may receive a small commission if you make a booking through those links, at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence the AI-generated itinerary content.

This site also displays Google AdSense advertisements. Ads are served by Google and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual Property

The design, branding, code, and non-AI content of Wander Melbournians are owned by the site operator. AI-generated itinerary text is produced dynamically and is not claimed as original creative work.

You may save and print itineraries for personal use only. You may not reproduce, resell, or republish itinerary content for commercial purposes.

7. Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Itinerary search history — stored only in your browser's local storage (localStorage). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time via your browser settings.
• Form inputs — distance, budget, travel style, interests, and destination selections are sent to our server solely to generate your itinerary. They are not stored or linked to any personal identifier.
• IP address — used temporarily for rate-limiting (preventing abuse) and is not retained beyond the current request window.
• Server logs — standard server logs may be retained for up to 30 days for debugging and security purposes, then deleted.

What we do not collect

• We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal details.
• We do not use cookies for tracking or profiling (beyond what Google AdSense may set — see below).
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party.

Third-party services

• Google AdSense — may set cookies and collect data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out via Google Ad Settings.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — itinerary generation requests are processed by Anthropic. Inputs are not stored by us after generation. Refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Open-Meteo — weather data fetched from open-meteo.com. No personal data is transmitted in these requests.
• OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — map geocoding. Destination name strings are sent to Nominatim to resolve map coordinates. No personal data is included.
• Ticketmaster Discovery API — event listings shown on result pages are retrieved from the Ticketmaster Discovery API (developer.ticketmaster.com), used under its free commercial tier. Only the destination's geographic coordinates and the weekend date range are transmitted — no personal data is included. Event data, images, and links are the property of Ticketmaster and respective event organisers. We display this data purely for user convenience and do not guarantee completeness or accuracy of listings. Ticketmaster's API Terms of Use apply to all event data shown.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wander Melbournians and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Your use of, or inability to use, this service.
• Any reliance placed on AI-generated content.
• Any third-party booking, purchase, or transaction made based on our suggestions.
• Any travel decision made using this service.

This service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly.
